What we do

studio amma exists because the space between commercial ambition and cultural work is where some of the most interesting — and most underserved — opportunities live.

We help organisations on both sides of that divide find each other, understand each other, and build collaborations and projects that last.

Our Founder

Millie Ladd is a senior commercial leader with over 15 years' experience at the intersection of creativity, culture, and commerce. She specialises in developing strategic partnerships and commercial models that create lasting value for both brands and cultural organisations.

Millie studied Fashion Management at the London College of Fashion graduating with a first-class degree and a placement year at Hackett London. Early roles at Jaeger London and then the British Fashion Council (BFC) gave her a grounding in both brand-side commercial operations and the workings of a major cultural institution.

Across her 9 year tenure at the BFC, Millie rose to Head of Commercial and Brand Partnerships, leading a portfolio worth over £10m a year across London Fashion Week, The Fashion Awards, and the wider BFC commercial incomes such as patronage, ticketing and membership. She worked with some of the world's most recognised brands — American Express, Chanel, Swarovski, Farfetch, Selfridges — and during the COVID-19 pandemic led a fundraising effort that raised over £1m for charity in under six months.

After some time spent building a fashion-tech start-up she then went on to lead global partnerships at Frieze, working across their art fairs (LA, New York, Seoul and London), VIP membership and the No.9 Cork Street gallery.

Across 15 years, Millie has developed a reputation for getting underneath a client's challenge before reaching for a solution — working collaboratively, communicating clearly, and delivering at senior level in complex organisations. She holds a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, which informs her approach to client relationships.

In 2025 whilst on maternity leave with her first child Millie founded studio amma - "amma" is an acronym of the first letters of the names of Millie's immediate family — and means mother across many languages and cultures. It felt like the right name for a business born from a decision to back herself, and build something she and her daughter could be proud of.

How we work with our clients

studio amma works as a senior commercial partner embedded enough to understand your organisation, independent enough to give you honest counsel.

We work across five areas:

  • Sustainable revenue models, new income streams, and confident growth decisions.

  • Brand relationships that align with your values and work for both sides.

  • Senior commercial support for your CEO or leadership team — without the full-time commitment.

  • Patron programmes, VIP relations, and the commercial structures that keep stakeholders engaged.

  • End-to-end delivery for events, launches, and high-profile commercial projects.
